Within the Parish of St Anthony’s, Noble Park, the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated in three steps. Each step is a necessary part of your childs initiation into our faith community (the Catholic Church)
The steps are:
1) Rite of enrolment - your child’s name is received.
2) Rite of election - your child is anointed and set apart for Baptism.
3) Rite of Baptism - the pouring of the waters of Baptism.
Steps 1 & 2 happen at the Saturday or Sunday Masses on the two weekends prior to Step 3.
If you do not live within the Parish of St Anthony’s it is requested that you present a letter from the Priest of the Parish in which you live.
Baptism date can only be confirmed at the Preparation Meeting,
please don’t organise any activities before the meeting.
There must be one Catholic Godparent who has received the Sacraments of Christian initiation; Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, and belongs in an active sense to the Catholic Church. There may be a second Godparent who may be a Catholic, meeting the conditions just mentioned, or a baptised non-Catholic who is an active member in his/her own Church, representing the Christian Community.
If you are unable to come to the Parish Centre to pick up the Application Form, you still can have it by the following link, fill it and return it to the Parish Centre one week before the Preparation Night.
